For centuries, these small, treeless islands, have endured history and myth; abandonment and fire; overpopulation and near extinction. An Island Kingdom is the first documentary to chronicle the 400-year history of the Isles of Shoals – nine islands located ten miles off the coast of New Hampshire and Maine.

Producer / Director Andrea Melville has over 20 years of public television experience, from short magazine style programs to documentaries. She has been awarded two Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Boston/New England Chapter as well as two National Telly Awards and two International Columbus Awards.

Funding for this program was provided by The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, the New Hampshire Humanities Council and the Isles of Shoals Historical and Research Association.
