For centuries, these small, treeless islands, have endured history and myth; abandonment and fire; overpopulation and near extinction. An Island Kingdom is the first documentary to chronicle the 400-year history of the Isles of Shoals – nine islands located ten miles off the coast of New Hampshire and Maine.

This program brings together many never-before-seen historic photographs, beautiful artwork, period music, and incredible present-day views to tell the story of these tiny, isolated islands.

Producer / Director Andrea Melville has over 20 years of public television experience, from short magazine style programs to documentaries. She has been awarded two Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Boston/New England Chapter as well as two National Telly Awards and two International Columbus Awards.
